Applicant comments: Working in tandem with GB7DH, GB3DH will allow stations operating with analogue radios to speak to the digital fusion stations. VHF is more preferential for coverage across the mid-Cheshire plains and this repeater will support the many mobile stations much better than the 70cm repeater which is intended for city coverage in and around Northwich.
A key feature of the repeater will be link control via Wires II and Wires-X running in the analogue mode making it accessible to basically any radio. The NWFG group is very active and many stations in Cheshire are currently missing out without having to purchase expensive digital radios. GB3DH will help here and keep up interest, awareness and choice, within the hobby.
This applicant has opted for site privacy which means we do not show detailed mapping for the proposal. However the applicant has given the following description of coverage: The repeater provides Wires-X connectivity on analogue via DTMF control and extends the Northwest Fusion Group's coverage further south towards Knutsford, Northwich, Nantwich, Winsford, Congleton and Stoke On Trent.
